Building the airstrip for the Forward Operating Base. We hired 15 local village men to do the job for Ecofaune. They built it all by hand (1,500 ft. x 120 ft) without any heavy equipment, not even a chain saw. We bought them better tools and had them delivered. Dr. Randy McKinney photo

When building the FOB airstrip, everything was done by hand, including moving the logs after the trees that were cut down. Dr. Randy McKinney photo

Some of Joseph Kony’s LRA terrorist army soldiers who rape and pillage villages capturing innocent little kids to sell and use as sex slaves and child soldiers. And they kill elephants, rhino and giraffe in the CAR to sell the tusks, rhino horns, and the giraffe’s tails. Sam Farmar photo

Joseph Kony cuts the ears, lips, or nose off the kids he kidnaps to use as his sex slaves. This is the way he ‘brands’ them as his own. It also causes the child so much psychological harm that they are afraid to try and escape for fear that their family (if in fact they are still alive) will not take them back when they are so disfigured! This child was able to escape right after he was mutilated by Kony. Kony is one of the most barbaric people on earth and he does these atrocities in the eastern part of the CAR. Photographer unknown

The gruesome and barbaric job of the terrorist poachers. There were a total of seven elephants killed in this one spot in CAR. Ecofaune photo
